COOLBRAIN
Chiplet cOOling solutions for Low-consumption emBedded pRocessing AI at Nanoscale
Our vision is to embark on a pioneering journey to unleash the potential of chiplet architecture for embedded systems and smart devices by integrating diamond in the chiplet package and by harvesting electrical energy using near field super-Planckian radiative heat transfer.

2D-ADDICT
TWO-Dimensional materials for Advanced DevIces and low-power CompuTing
Our vision is to develop energy-efficient nanoelectronic devices based on 2D material nanosheets, enabling equivalent sub-nanometer scaling and vertical transistor stacking. By combining wafer-scale 2D material integration, vertically CFET architectures, and advanced modeling, we aim to drastically reduce energy per operation and enable scalable, CMOS-compatible solutions for future smart edge computing.

CERBERUS
Unlocking the Full Potential of Edge AI through In-memory Computing Based on 2D Materials with Extreme Energy Efficiency
CERBERUS aims at taking a radical step forward in the field of in-memory computing by addressing fundamental efficiency bottlenecks preventing edge computing from unleashing its full potential. Its goal is to achieve, by employing novel 2D-monolayer and graphene materials, disruptive improvements along three pillars: the efficiency of memristive devices, the efficiency of peripheral circuits, and that of heat spreaders.

2DFERROPLEX
Ferroelectric 2D materials heterostructures for optical neuromorphic device functionalities
2DFERROPLEX pioneers brain-inspired computing by using two-dimensional ferroelectric materials to create ultra-fast, energy-efficient optical components. By enabling information processing at the speed of light, the project paves the way for developing the building blocks of the next-generation of neuromorphic systems and aims to build the world’s first optical artificial neuron.

SPARK-e
Solid-state phase change materials for advanced energy recovery and key thermal control in electronics
SPARK-e was created to research and design new materials that reduce energy consumption and improve heat dissipation. This will boost efficiency and extend the lifespan of our smart devices. Furthermore, our desire is to create materials that can store excess heat and convert it into electricity, thus embracing the concept of circularity to its fullest extent.

SpikeHERO
Spiking hybrid edge computing for robust optoelectronical signal processing
Our vision is to leverage advanced heterogeneous 3D chiplet integration to enable novel edge computing platforms based on both electrical and optical Spiking Neural Networks to match throughput and latency of low-power, low-latency computation with high-speed, low-power communication.
